Blinking in Orange : 5 times

Summary:
This indicates that printer cannot detect the cartridge in the printer. These are possibilities due to the problem:
  • There are no cartridge installed in the printer
  • Cartridge error so that the printer cannot detect the cartridge.
  • Carriage unit error so there is no communication between cartridge and the printer.
  • The last, logic board error so cannot detect the cartridge.
Remedial action:
  • Replace cartridge
  • Replace carriage unit
  • Replace logic board

Description: Low Ink Warning / Ink Runs Out

Summary:
The indication shows that low ink warning or ink has run out happens. When the indication appears, press Resume button to continue printing remaining documents. Even tough the indication has shown up, physically some ink still remain in sponge in cartridge.

Remedial action:
Deactivate ink level ink level detection function: In case of using refill ink, the problems will remain due to ink level data is stored in chip memory in the cartridge. You can do this tricks tentatively. Ink level will display to proper point every time you replace the cartridge with new one.
Replace cartridge with new one.

Summary:
This error indicates that sheet feed unit cannot feed the paper properly, so the paper sensor stay ON. Note that, in some cases, missing of paper sensor spring can make the same indication. For this one, the error preceded by successful printing process.

Remedial action:
  • Remove the jam paper, then press RESUME button.
  • Replace missing paper sensor spring.

Summary:
In normal condition, blinking 2 times in orange indicates that no paper detected in paper tray. First, please check whether paper is present in paper tray. If you are sure paper is present, set the paper properly then press Resume / Cancel button to continue printing.
If the problem still persist, commonly there is unidentified material in paper path that ban the paper to be fed.

Remedial action:
  • Set the paper properly, then press Resume button to continue printing.
  • Remove main cover and clean paper path from the material.

Identify Error Indicator of Canon Inkjet Printer

Our topic today is How to Identify Error Indicator of Canon inkjet printer. First, we should understand indication shown by LED indicator. Each phenomenon is represented by flashing LED. ERROR in the printer is represented by Blinking in Orange (Alarm LED) or combination of Orange (Alarm LED) and Green (Power LED). And the PROCESS is represented by Blinking in Green.
There are two types of error indicated by blinking LED. Blinking in orange (Alarm LED) indicates OPERATOR CALL ERROR and blinking in orange/green alternately indicates SERVICE CALL ERROR. Please check here for more details about error type of Canon printer.
Each error indicator mentioned above has certain count. How to count error indicator that indicated by flashing LED?. Well, take a look at your printer. For the first time the printer turned on, power LED (green) will flash and immediately goes standby about 5 seconds then the printer starts blinking in certain number with interval about 2 seconds. The end of count is when the power LED standby about 5 second again. Afterward the process will cycle from the beginning.
How many times LED indicator blinks tells us what is the error occurs on the printer.
